PostSubject: Bible Reading plans for the New Year   Mon Dec 31, 2012 2:04 am

Anyone trying anything interesting this year?

I came across these Bible Reading plans: http://www.ligonier.org/blog/bible-reading-plans/

I am leaning towards reading the Bible 3xs in a year to improve my overall view.
Using either the bible in 90 days, or splitting it that way.
In March I plan on signing up with Precepts for one of their bible studies, while keeping the reading going, Lord willing.

My favorite daily devotional is the InTouch Magazine. In the back there is a daily devotional, and also a reference for a Read Thru the Bible in a Year. The subscription is free, but they do accept donations to help defray the costs of mailing and publication.

Since about the New Year, I've taken up reading the NT in my copy of the Ferrar Fenton Version. I had held back because his NT was based on Westcott & Hort's Greek text, but I decided to put my textual bigotry aside. So far, I'm liking it.

On the other hand, my King James II, a product of Jay P. Green and others, has been somewhat disappointing. If memory serves (sometimes it does) Green's works gave me my bias against Westcott & Hort. Live and learn...
